Wireless Body Area Networks: Survey of Recent Research Trends on Energy Efficient Routing Protocols and Guidelines

Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is a recent technologically advanced sub-category of Sensor Networks (WSN) which consists many bio-sensors, attached in and around human body, for monitoring the health-related issues from remote places. The WBAN faces various challenges during real time deployment. Energy conservation has always been most crucial issue sensor nodes, are powered by limited capacity battery sources. During sensing communication, elements emit high temperature its circuit transmitting antenna due to inefficient data routing designs. This energy may lead form hot-spot, affects tissues at different level. So designing an energy-efficient protocol very challenging reduce emission temperatures. Different protocols have projected this survey over years terms measuring terminologies. endeavor prolong network lifetime minimizing consumption each deployed nodes. There variety papers put forwarded researchers evaluate performance categorize WBANs. paper describes overview WBAN, systematic existing contracts open research discussed.
